So I was working on this epic post about concluding my first year of teaching. And… I’m still working on it. Items to discuss:

• Mr. O’Quinn 2.0: The full-time Social Studies (not English) teacher.
• Classroom management: the steepest learning curve in becoming a teacher.
• My quasi-working summer: classes, conferences, and the scary organization project.

Right now we are really on vacation. My wife, Maria, and teenage daughter Dora are in Dallas, Texas, visiting friends and family. I also want to wish Maria Happy Birthday today! It’s hot and humid– just the weather that makes me feel at home, from the first 25 summers of my life spent in Georgia.
